Terms of Use
Last updated: June 23, 2026 · FutureSide LLC (doing business as FutureSide Studios)
Welcome, and thank you for visiting! We're so glad you're here. Think of this page as a friendly note from our family to yours — a few simple ground rules that help us keep Jack's Window safe and special for everyone. We've written it the way a teacher would explain a classroom rule: kindly, clearly, and with a smile.
1. A Warm Welcome (and a Little Agreement)
By spending time on jackswindow.com (we'll call it "the Site"), you're agreeing to these friendly terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, that's okay — we'd simply ask that you not use the Site. These terms come from FutureSide LLC, a small Washington State company doing business as FutureSide Studios, based in Kirkland, Washington.
2. Who Made What (and Who Owns It)
Every part of this book and website was made with a lot of love by real people. Because of all that care, the law protects it — and so do we. Here's who created what:
- The words and story of Jack's Window, the characters, and the "Nani's Window" series belong to Nancy Coury. © Nancy Coury. All rights reserved.
- The illustrations and artwork belong to Taylor Lombardi, our wonderful illustrator. © Taylor Lombardi. All rights reserved.
- The website, the series brand, and the design belong to FutureSide LLC. © 2026 FutureSide LLC. All rights reserved.
All of this is protected by copyright laws in the United States, Canada, and around the world.
3. Please Keep the Story Safe — Our Copyright Rule
Here's our most important rule, said simply: please don't copy our work without asking first.
Because two different people created this book, each owns a different part of it:
- The words, characters, and story belong to Nancy Coury and FutureSide LLC — so any reprint, adaptation, or other use of the text requires permission from us.
- The illustrations and artwork belong to Taylor Lombardi — so any reuse, reproduction, or alteration of the pictures requires permission directly from Taylor, and (per the agreement between us) additional compensation to her.
That means the text, illustrations, characters, and artwork can't be copied, scanned, photographed for sharing, reprinted, sold, re-drawn, turned into other products, or posted elsewhere without the appropriate rights holder's written permission. This protects Nancy's words and Taylor's pictures so they stay exactly as they were meant to be — and so the people who made them are treated fairly.
We know the vast majority of visitors would never dream of doing this. This note is simply here for the rare few, and we trust you completely.
4. What You're Always Welcome to Do
We love it when you share your excitement! You're warmly invited to:
- Share links to our pages with friends, family, and on social media.
- Print a single copy of a page for your own personal reading.
- Quote a short passage (up to 50 words) in a review, a class discussion, or a friendly recommendation — just please mention the book title and Nancy's name.
5. A Few Gentle "Please Don'ts"
To keep things fair for our author and illustrator, we kindly ask that you not:
- Copy, scan, or share the book's words or pictures beyond the small, friendly uses above.
- Use anything from the Site to make money without asking us first.
- Use robots, bots, or scraping tools to collect content from the Site.
- Pretend to be connected with FutureSide Studios, Nancy Coury, Taylor Lombardi, or the Jack's Window series.
- Try to get around any of the Site's security.
6. When You Share a Memory With Us
If you send us a classroom memory, a kind note, or a testimonial through one of our forms, thank you! By sharing it, you're giving FutureSide LLC permission to show your words on the Site and in materials about the book. We'll always assume the story is yours to share. And of course, we may gently edit for length or choose not to publish something — always with care.
7. Want to Use Something? Just Ask!
We love hearing from readers, educators, and journalists. Because the book has two rights holders, here's how to reach the right person:
- For the story, text, characters, classroom use, bulk orders, or media inquiries — reach out to FutureSide LLC through our Get in Touch form. Almost always, the answer to a kind request is a happy "yes."
- For the illustrations and artwork — please contact Taylor Lombardi directly at taylorlombardi.com. Taylor holds the copyright to her illustrations, and any reuse or alteration of the artwork requires her written permission and, per our agreement, additional compensation to her.
8. Links to Other Places
Sometimes we'll point you to other websites we trust (like BookBaby, where the book is sold, or Taylor Lombardi's art portfolio). Those are just for your convenience. Once you head over there, those sites have their own rules and privacy practices, so we can't be responsible for them.
9. A Little Housekeeping
We work hard to keep this Site running smoothly, but we offer it "as is" and can't promise it will always be perfect or error-free. To the extent the law allows, FutureSide LLC isn't responsible for any indirect or unexpected problems that come from using the Site. We may also update or change the Site whenever we need to.
10. Which Laws Apply
FutureSide LLC operates out of Kirkland, Washington, in the United States. These terms follow the laws of the State of Washington, and any legal matters would be handled in the courts of King County, Washington. We warmly welcome readers from across the United States and Canada — if you're visiting from somewhere else, please be mindful of your own local laws too.
11. Little Updates Now and Then
From time to time we may freshen up these terms. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you're okay with the updated version.
If anything here is ever unclear, please don't hesitate to ask — we're real people, and we're always happy to help. You can reach us anytime through our Get in Touch form. Thank you for helping us keep Jack's story safe and full of heart. 💛
